State League History

During the spring of 1939, women in Winter Haven, Winter Park-Orlando and St. Petersburg, with the assistance of a past president of the national League, participated in the reorganization of the League, which had been disbanded in 1937.  The program of the new League was ambitious: (1) survey of state and county school systems, (2) study of state and local government and (3) foreign policy of the United States .

With 31 Leagues spread through out the state, The League Of Women Voters Of Florida continues to study issues and promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government.
